Vaccars brand new stand design

The Dairy Event 2009 took place at Stoneleigh on the 16th and 17th September. Vaccar were there in force with a brand new stand design consisting of 2 new Clusterflush demonstration models. Vaccar experienced a huge amount of interest in the award winning Clusterflush continuing on from the success of last year’s event. Vaccars new Detach-A-Flush system reached the final of the inaugural Livestock Machinery Award narrowly missing out on the top prize at the event.

Yet another successful open day, for the farmers of Lancashire this time. This was once again part of the Livestock Northwest initiative aimed at assisting animal health and welfare.

Vaccar Ltd organised the event in conjunction with Myerscough College and James Hadwin from Myerscough was on hand to explain how the scheme works.

The venue this time was the world famous home of Mrs. Kirkham’s cheese at Goosnargh near Preston. The Kirkham’s have a Vaccar parlour and a recently fitted Vaccar Clusterflush system. They had the system fitted because it is imperative they maintain a very high standard of milk in order to produce consistently good quality cheese. The slightest variance can affect the cheese consistency dramatically.

About 65 people attended on what turned out to be one of the few fine days this summer. We are grateful to all the farmers that attended for sparing the time. I think they would agree that it was time well spent with eminent mastitis vet Roger Blowey giving everyone the benefit of his vast experience in the control of mastitis and the importance of automatic flushing.

Over the next four years there will be opportunities for livestock farmers across the Northwest to get involved in farmer groups and attend demonstration events aimed at improving business performance through better nutrient management, resource efficiency and animal health and welfare.

There will be a certain amount of grant funding available to farmers who have taken part in an audit. There will be support for existing and new farmer groups providing access to specialist and technical information. On farm events will be organised to demonstrate best practice and new technologies.

Vaccar Ltd were delighted to be involved with just such an event held on the farm of Mr. D. Hughes at the Wirrall in Cheshire. The event was run in conjunction with Reaseheath College and Mr. Tim Goldsbrough was on hand to explain the scheme. There was also a talk on mastitis control by eminent mastitis vet Mr. Roger Blowey. The Clusterflush System was demonstrated by Vaccar Ltd. who installed the system on Mr. Hughes farm 6 months ago. It provided a great opportunity for farmers to discuss how quickly they can expect positive results, indications of savings including valuable time and speed of payback time. Prince Phillip presents the merit award to the Clusterflush design team

Vaccar and it’s revolutionary Clusterflush system scooped the Prince Phillip Merit Award for inovation at the 2008 Dairy Event. Managing Director Peter Larner and representatives from the two businesses that contributed greatly toward the design of the system, Philip Atkins of Agri-Puls and Justin Bernard of Davlec Ltd visited Buckingham Palace to collect the award from Prince Phillip himself.
